Bras Across the Bosque

When I first heard about it on the radio, I couldn’t believe my ears. Local radio stations here in Albuquerque, New Mexico were collecting bras from women (probably a few men too) for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to string across the Montano Street Bridge to show support for Breast Cancer Research.

I took a long, cold walk to the bridge early this morning to capture a few images. I’ve shifted the colors a little in post production (making them less editorial I know), to give them more of a surreal look, because let’s face it, it is not every day you see unmentionables along one of the most busiest streets in Albuquerque. For such a great cause, this was definitely worth the trip.

  1. Fantastic pix! I’m pretty sure that the bra in the b/w shot is the one I donated. My mother-in-law was a breast cancer survivor. My sister-in-law and a family friend did not survive. Hurray for breast cancer awareness – get those mammograms, ladies.
